Paul’s studies are focused on waste and water management, life-cycle analysis and entrepreneurship. Paul’s primary interests lie in the opportunity for communities and corporations to derive enhanced social and economic value through the adoption of innovation waste and water management strategies and technologies. During his first summer, Paul interned for the Natural Resources Defense Council, helping lead an industrial work group through the development of sustainability metrics for the agricultural supply chain. This past summer, Paul worked with S4 Energy Solutions/Waste Management on evaluating new business opportunities and investments in the waste-to-energy space. Over the past two years, Paul also helped found a waste management startup, which is developing an onsite food waste solution for supermarkets and cafeterias. Prior to joining the Erb Community, Paul served as a city planner for the San Diego Association of Governments, where he managed public transit and smart growth development projects aimed at curbing urban sprawl and reducing regional carbon emissions. Paul graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science and Policy.
