Rachel is passionate about sustainable food systems and agriculture supply chains. Most recently, Rachel interned with Environmental Defense Fund in their Walmart Corporate Partnership Program. There she worked on consumer product sustainability projects to advance Walmart towards its 20 million metric ton greenhouse gas reduction goal within its supply chain.

In Summer 2011, Rachel interned with The Nature Conservancy and Three Rivers Alliance, a group of cattle ranchers, to conduct a feasibility study to develop a branded beef business with environmental attributes. There she gained experience working across the beef value chain. For her masters project, she is working with REI to develop a chemicals management strategy for its retail operations. During her studies, she has also conducted projects with Whole Foods Market Detroit and Recovery Park, an urban farm in Detroit. Prior to her graduate studies, Rachel worked as a strategy consultant at Deloitte Consulting, gaining extensive experience in strategic planning, organizational change, process redesign, and business case development. At Deloitte, she had the opportunity to work with Deloitte’s newly forming Sustainability & Climate Change practice and work on a pro-bono engagement with the United Nations Global Compact to develop robust tools to support the compact’s signatory organizations. Rachel graduated with distinction from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University with majors in Finance and Business Law. Outside of school, she enjoys camping, visiting national and state parks, and craft beer.
