Maite is currently the Manager of Global Strategy at Starbucks. Maite is passionate about creating positive social and environmental impact through renewable energy solutions and energy efficiency measures. She is particularly interested in how clean technologies and innovative business models can help create reliable, resilient and sustainable energy frameworks to meet the demands and needs of emerging markets.

Maite is from Mexico City, Mexico, where she attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana.

Prior to Graduate School, she worked as a renewable energy project developer with Potencia Industrial S.A. in Mexico City. In her time there she coordinated a 20MW wind power project in northern Baja California, Mexico; oversaw small-wind turbine manufacturing, sales and projects; and started the development of a run-of-river hydroelectric plant.
Previous to Potencia Industrial, she worked in Microsoft Mexico for one year, helping the Anti-piracy department create strategies for intellectual property education in Mexico.

Maite likes to spend her free time outdoors, may it be running, hiking, biking or just relaxing. She enjoys good friends, good beer and good food.
