John is an Associate at Renova Capital Partners, a Denver, CO based investment firm which finances, owns, and aggregates clean energy infrastructure assets. Specifically, Renova Capital looks to invest in renewable base load power generating assets in the areas of waste-to-energy, biomass, and geothermal. At the firm, John is tasked with providing project and sector due diligence, extensive financial modeling, and assisting in all aspects of structuring and strategic implementation of investments and transactions. While at Michigan John worked with enXco, a wind and solar developer, to evaluate water usage of power systems and develop a water strategy for the firm’s concentrated solar power projects. He also worked on corporate strategy and sustainability strategy for Waste Management and MWH Global, a large environmental infrastructure engineering firm. John’s master’s thesis evaluated an alternative method of financing and valuation of water saving technologies for a large coal power utility. Prior to graduate school, John spent three years as an associate at Stratus Consulting where he provided analytical and research capabilities to several practices, including water resource economics and management, public health economics, non-market valuation, natural resource damage assessment, climate change and energy policy. His clients ranged from federal, state and local agencies to the World Bank. John earned a Bachelors Degree in Economics and Environmental Studies from Middlebury College, and an MBA and MS in Sustainable Systems from the University of Michigan.
