Over half of the seventeen United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals address key social sustainability challenges and seek to create a world that is more just and sustainable for all. These goals include “No Poverty,” “Gender Equality,” “Reduced Inequalities” and “Decent Work and Economic Growth”. Business models are only sustainable if all of our workers earn a living wage and low-wage workers have a shot at advancement into higher paying positions. These goals might feel outside of the scope of your current role in your organization—they are not. The opportunity to address these goals lies squarely on your shoulders. Progress toward these goals starts within your organization—in fact, they start with you.
In this panel, experts and business leaders will share why it is integral for all sustainability professionals and business leaders to advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion in their organizations. Panelists will provide ideas for taking action to improve workplace policies, create a more inclusive culture, promote equity through workforce development and improve hiring practices to address the barriers that many individuals currently face. As a participant, you will be challenged to develop specific actions you plan to take within your organization as an internal advocate and change agent for diversity, equity and inclusion.[/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line”][nectar_btn size=”medium” open_new_tab=”true” button_style=”regular” button_color_2=”Accent-Color” icon_family=”none” url=”https://events.sustainablebrands.com/sb19det/” text=”Click here to register!”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
