Former Silicon Valley venture capitalist, John Denniston and Tony Salas (former undersecretary of Agriculture for Peru) are coming to the University of Michigan to give a talk on the genesis of Shared-X, “A for-profit impact company.” Shared-X is a partnership formed between Denniston and Salas to find novel ways to develop rural agriculture in developing countries to achieve 3 goals: “generate attractive financial returns for our customers, lift people out of extreme poverty and deploy sustainable agricultural techniques to a region of the world that has rarely seen them.”
