Ian is a Manager with Mission Throttle’s Advisory Practice committed to providing innovative and pragmatic solutions to enhance the efficiency and impact of mission-driven organizations. He recently completed a dual master’s degree at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and the School of Natural Resources and the Environment through the Erb Institute for Global, Sustainable Enterprise. During his studies, Ian focused on developing innovative financing solutions to drive social and environmental impact and leveraging cognitive psychology to promote environmentally responsible behavior change. Ian was a member of Detroit Revitalization and Business, the Business Impact Group, Net Impact, and was a founding member of Ross Food, Beverage, and Agribusiness.

Throughout his career, Ian has worked with several for-impact organizations ranging from Michigan-based pediatric mental healthcare providers and a Detroit aquaponics social enterprise, to a start-up impact investing firm working to improve the lives of smallholder Peruvian coffee farmers. Ian also worked in several roles for the University of Michigan Athletic Department, including orchestrating one of the first Zero Waste NCAA Championships in the country.

Ian received his BA in English literature with distinction from the University of Michigan. Following his time as a student-athlete on the Michigan Men’s Gymnastics team, he developed a partnership promoting and competing internationally for Mikey’s Way Foundation, a Connecticut-based non-profit supporting pediatric cancer patients and was a member of the Irish Senior National team, competing at the 2014 European and World Championships.
