Andrew van Baal

Undergraduate Erb Fellow

Class of 2025

At the University of Michigan, I’m a junior pursuing Environmental Science and Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences, as well as a 2023 Yale Conservation Scholar. In addition to my involvement with the Erb Fellows Program, I actionize my learning by working for the Office of Student Life Sustainability. I collaborate with President Ono, his Administration and other student employees/activists on advancing campus-wide sustainability.

With hands-on experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and data analysis, I’m keen to deploy sustainable solutions to critical issues like climate change and Great Lakes water resource management. I’m equally interested in the business advantages of sustainability. As I prepare for my post-graduation career, I aim to secure a role that allows me to create and implement sustainability strategies for complex organizations.
