Taka is specializing in renewable energy power generation, policy, and business development. He has extensive experience in the solar cell industry working as a material science engineer, researcher, and market strategist. Since joining the Erb program, Taka developed a market entry strategy for Pratt & Whitney Power Systems’ (formerly UTC Power) PureCycle geothermal power generation unit; completed a global demand outlook forecast for large-format Li-ion batteries for the HEV/PHEV/EV markets working as a strategic planning intern for Dow Kokam; and worked as a business development intern with SunPower Corporation at which time he crafted a market entry strategy for commercial-scale solar projects. Taka is also active in the local community serving as president of the Net Impact chapter at Ross (2010-2011), and worked with the Ypsilanti based Clean Energy Coalition to develop an actionable solar plan for the Ann Arbor community. Taka holds a B.S. from the University of California, Los Angeles in Chemical Engineering.
