Sean Ansett is a Sustainability Executive with 20 years’ experience managing complexity, building multi-stakeholder partnerships, and spearheading change across the apparel, electronics and food sectors.

He is founder of At Stake Advisors Limited, a global sustainability consultancy focused on transforming strategy into practice in the areas of human rights, ethical trade, and environmental sustainability.  Prior to founding At Stake Advisors, Sean Ansett was the Director of Corporate Responsibility at Burberry and Director of Global Partnerships at Gap Inc., where he set a new bar for corporate responsibility reporting receiving more than 2 million positive impressions. Sean has been instrumental in the development and governance of key Multistakeholder initiatives related to value chains globally.  He also served as the Interim Executive Director of the Bangladesh Accord, the first ever supplier safety initiative. Sean was the former CSO of Fairphone, the first sustainable and modular smart phone company to go to market that successfully raised $8m in crowd funding and received the UN Momentum for Change Award, Sustainia 100 Community Award and was a 2016 SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards finalist.

Sean speaks regularly on panels and guest lectures at leading business schools – INSEAD, London Business School, NYU, University of Cambridge and University of Michigan. He has contributed to and has been quoted in Bloomberg, Financial Times and the Wall Street Journal. He has published in number of academic journals including Bio Medical Central, Employee Rights and Responsibilities Journal, Perspectives on Work, Leadership & Organization Development Journal and MIT Sloan Management Review.

Sean currently is Chairman of the Board of Uniform – Liberty and Justice Clothing, Cofounder Allwithbooks.com, Advisor to LaborVoices and serves on the Advisory Boards of Nest, Responsible Ecosystems Services Platform (RESP) and the University of Michigan Erb Institute.

Sean holds a Masters in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Cambridge and a Masters of Science in Business Administration from California State University.  He is a returned U.S. Peace Corps volunteer, is fluent in Spanish, and has cross-cultural team experience in 30+ countries including China, Bangladesh, India, Mexico, Turkey and Vietnam.
