A designer by training and a former undergraduate professor, Rosemary continues to merge her interest and skills in consumer goods, sustainability strategyt to translating and driving action across sectors/disciplines. She has a BFA in Communication Design from Carnegie Mellon University, studied Sustainable Architecture & Design at the Ecosa Institute, taught undergraduate communication design and sustainability studies at Carnegie Mellon’s campus in Doha, Qatar and worked with Grameen Communications in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Her summers during graduate school were spent working towards sustainable food; first developing a prototype corporate sustainability report for a large organic dairy with her Masters Project team and working with Environmental Defense Fund and Walmart to identify opportunities for environmental improvements in poultry supply chains. After Michigan, Rosemary has held internal sustainability roles within the food supply chain, first with Ingredion, Inc. (Fortune 500 ingredient manufacturer) and later Aldi United States (discount grocery retailer), helping each organization to advance their internal sustainability goals and programs. Rosemary is now the Director of Consumer Goods with thinkstep out of Boston, helping consumer goods organizations identify solutions to sustainability information challenges using solid data, software and sustainability expertise. To offset her love of food, Rosemary keeps active through dance (salsa & swing), yoga, rock-climbing and soon- sailing!
