Mike Ilardi
MBA/MS Candidate 2019
Erb Institute | Business for Sustainability
Mike joined the Erb Institute to better understand how traditional corporations can be economically incentivized to operate more sustainably. His related interest in social enterprise led him to join the Social Venture Fund at the Ross School of Business, through which he has the opportunity to evaluate and invest in for-profit companies that generate positive, measurable social and/or environmental impact. His goal is to bring the strategic and operational practices of social enterprise to big business, in order to leverage its enormous positive impact potential.
Prior to coming to the University of Michigan, Mike worked for an impact investing nonprofit in San Francisco, before which he spent several years in the technology sector. He has held a variety of functional roles, from client relations to sales to internal consulting, and has worked directly with Fortune Global 500 clients. He is passionate about promoting gender and racial equity in business, and is fanatical about bike-camping.
