Katy is interested in energy information’s impact on human behavior and providing access to clean energy to people at the base of the pyramid. Prior to graduate school, Katy spent time in Japan researching energy efficiency and several years in Washington DC consulting for U.S. EPA and DOE on material conservation and energy efficiency programs. Katy spent her two graduate school summers working in product management – first working for a clean tech start-up in Bangalore that markets pay-as-you-go solar home systems and second in strategic marketing at a diversified manufacturing company. She now works as a Senior Product Manager for Amazon Business Marketplace, Amazon’s new B2B initiative that launched in April 2015. She is fluent in Japanese and Spanish and has a BA in Environmental Economics from Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA. In her free time, she enjoys bicycle touring, traveling, camping, hiking, cooking and gardening.
