Jimmy is passionate about utilizing markets to create positive impact. Jimmy is concentrating his studies at the University of Michigan in marketing, entrepreneurship, and sustainable systems to supplement his quantitative and finance background. Recently, Jimmy was a Product Marketing Manager Intern at Microsoft. Within the Lync product marketing team, he analyzed the telephony market, established customer growth trajectory, and completed a go to market strategy and execution plan. Jimmy’s previous summer was spent as the inaugural Delta Ventures Innovation Fellow with the Delta Institute and ReBuilding Exchange in Chicago. There he built a business plan for using reclaimed materials for functional and accessible furnishings. He collaborated with the venture founder to establish an innovative business model emphasizing financial, social, and environmental impact through using local design, materials, and human capital. At the University of Michigan Jimmy was selected to the Social Venture Fund, a student run impact investment fund making $50k-$100k investments and building capacity in invested companies. As an Erb student he helped the Global BrightLight Foundation develop a business plan to make solar energy accessible and affordable for the unelectrified population of the world. Before graduate school Jimmy was a Sr. Financial Analyst with NORC, a non-profit social science research organization and helped the organization grow over 50%. Prior to NORC, he was a Finance Associate with LaSalle Bank and Bank of America as part of their Corporate Finance Rotational Program. Jimmy graduated cum laude from Augustana College with a BA in Business Administration concentrating in Management, Finance, and Management Information Systems with a minor in Computer Science. He is an active traveler, food lover, soccer player, outdoorsman, and woodworker.
