Charles has more than 20 years of experience in research and advocacy on clean energy solutions, including work in both the transportation and energy sectors.  He has worked to advance state implementation strategies in Michigan and the Midwest for the EPA Clean Power Plan, as well as other state energy policies that advance energy efficiency and low-carbon energy generation.  He also serves as a participant in the Midcontinent Power Sector Collaborative, a multi-stakeholder initiative which seeks common ground on low-carbon policies and implementation approaches for the power sector. Charles is also an advocate of policies to help advance the sales and use of electric vehicles, and is helping to coordinate a new multi-state campaign (Charge Up Midwest) to advance aggressive EV goals across the region.
