Kathy Tian

MBA/MS Candidate 2020

Erb Institute | Business for Sustainability

Kathy is interested in the sustainable sourcing and marketing of consumer goods. At the Erb Institute, she studies how to identify, collect, and act on the appropriate metrics for sustainable operations. Kathy comes from a background in CPG marketing, so she is also interested in how consumer demands and behavior will alter the trajectory of sustainable business models. Throughout her academic and professional career, Kathy has been a champion of cultural awareness and inclusion, particularly as it relates to bridging the gap between eastern and western cultural norms. She sees many opportunities within the space of sustainability + business to broaden the conversation to more minority groups and create more equitable impact.

Prior to Erb, Kathy worked in marketing at PepsiCo-Frito Lay, specifically on digital media strategy across snack brands like Doritos, Cheetos, and Lays. She studied marketing at the University of Texas at Austin and is a proud Texan at heart. She loves a friendly flag football scrimmage, rock climbing, and a long night of board games.
