Becky has held multiple roles in Strategy and Finance at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. She works across the foundation’s domestic and international programs to help foundation leaders develop thoughtful, strategic approaches to achieve global change. Her areas of interest and expertise include promoting educational equity in the US, poverty eradication, and advancing environmental policies to address climate change. Prior to joining the foundation, Becky worked for McKinsey & Company, the Alaska Legislature, and the University of Alaska. She also interned for the White House Office of Energy and Climate Change Policy under President Obama. Becky is passionate about outdoor education and has served as a hiking guide, AmeriCorps trail crew leader, and most recently on the advisory council of the start-up Inian Islands Institute in Southeast Alaska. Becky has a B.A. in Public Policy and Education from Brown University and an MBA and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Policy and Planning from the University of Michigan.
