Jenny Wein is an IT and finance leader with over 20 years of expertise in business transformation and technology implementation, maximizing capabilities and the return on investment for large organizations focused on environmental sustainability. In Ms. Wein’s role at Guidehouse, she partners with large organizations on their IT strategy, agile program management, software implementation, data management, and related change management initiatives. She operates at the intersection of people, processes, and technology; emphasizing strategic planning and technology adoption to optimize organizations’ talent and delivery of their missions. Throughout her career Ms. Wein has transformed 30+ organizations with up to 55,000 employees. Prior to joining Guidehouse, Ms. Wein was on the Great Lakes Water Authority’s (GLWA’s) IT Leadership Team where she partnered with its Chiefs and Directors and oversaw its Business Productivity Systems team. Prior to that she was an
IT Management Consultant at Plante Moran, PLLC.

People 

Ms. Wein’s leadership style emphasizes empowering others, listening and adapting, identifying resources to enable success, providing supportive learning environments, and de-escalating conflict. She facilitates executive-level, cross-functional governance teams and re-energizes teams by building cultures for collaboration, continuous learning, and room to fail. In addition, she oversees project managers and other IT team members in matrix reporting structures. Her experience includes reorganizing reporting structures for her own teams as well as providing recommendations as a consultant to other organizations.

Technology & Data

To streamline and transform team operations Ms. Wein oversees the selection through adoption of tools to eliminate manual activities and automate interfaces and workflow processes. She has implemented Microsoft’s suite of tools and 20+ financial, HR, operational, and related systems costing up to $60M. She has also negotiated contracts and netted 8% annual savings on the licenses for her team’s 20+ software applications. In addition, Ms. Wein’s early career included auditing organizations’ financial data quality and reports, where she was sought out for her analytical skills and ability to
streamline audit processes.

Policies & Procedures

Ms. Wein’s projects have included rewriting financial policies and union agreements to adapt to new technology, business process mapping with illustrations to streamline or remove bottlenecks, overseeing the development and roll-out of capacity planning and program management dashboards, operationalizing industry best practices for risk management, and strengthening project intake and prioritization tools.

Ms. Wein holds an MBA and a Master of Science in Sustainable Systems from the University of Michigan. Outside of work, Ms. Wein is a Board and Finance Committee Member for the Michigan Organization on Adolescent Sexual Health. She also maintains an organic garden, habitats for native wildlife, and is a local real estate investor.
