5 Lakes Energy LLC

MBA/MS, Class of 2001

David directs the Michigan Environmental Council’s energy program. He advocates in multiple policy arenas for cleaner, more efficient energy systems, focusing on both stationary and mobile sources. One objective is to highlight the burdens associated with fossil fuel dependence: human illness, damage to natural systems, lost economic opportunity, and geopolitical instability. While completing the MBA/MS Program, David earned a Manufacturing Concentration through the Tauber Manufacturing Institute. As a Research Associate with the Center for Sustainable Systems, he wrote a Master’s Thesis that was later published in the Journal of Industrial Ecology. David holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University. Upon graduation, he served with the U.S. Navy on a ship based in Norfolk, Virginia.
