Community Building

The tight-knit social fabric of Erbers is a hallmark feature of our dual-degree program. Erb On the Road gives you, as a first-year or mid-year student, an unprecedented opportunity to build your network and community. After three days on a bus, in hotels, sharing meals and visiting businesses, you’ll have a new, unbreakable bond with your cohort, as well as Erb staff and faculty. Although each day is full of programming and site visits, there is also plenty of downtime to get to know each other and have fun.

Experiencing Erb on the Road gave me an immediate sense of what the Erb community is really about: community, collaboration, and solving the problems of business and sustainability together. It left me with a much bigger picture of the challenges I could actually work on and truly solidified that the multidisciplinary nature of the dual degree could take me exactly where I wanted to go.

I really enjoyed Erb on the Road, particularly during my first semester as it allowed me to build community and really connect with my peers. My cohort got to know one each other on a more personal level and left the weekend as friends! I found it really unique to learn more about Michigan through the lens of what I was studying. I grew up here, and I still left the weekend with so much new knowledge about how sustainability and business were being merged in my home state!
