Our graduate dual-degree MBA/MS students couple rigorous, action-based learning offered at Michigan Ross with the systems thinking and interdisciplinary education of the School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS) to deliver the knowledge and leadership skills needed to enact change in an organization. Our undergraduate Erb Fellows have a variety of majors and minors from across the University of Michigan, with a focus on and enthusiasm for business and sustainability. Through the Erb Fellows program, they build critical skills to advance both business and sustainability.

Consumers Energy
Energy equity is a critical concern in Michigan and top-of-mind for Consumers Energy, the state’s largest energy provider. In 2024, Erb students Andrew van Baal and Chelsea Silber partnered with the utility to research economic and environmental justice across the state, with a focus on energy issues.
Their research looked at how communities currently perceived and/or worked with Consumers Energy to achieve community goals, and how processes and relations could be improved to move toward community justice and self-determined sustainable futures. Their findings continue to inform the company’s community relations and equity strategies moving forward.
