By Phone
To make a gift by credit card over the phone, contact the U-M Gift and Records Office toll-free at 1-888-518-7888 or locally at 734-647-6179.
The office is open Monday - Friday from 9 AM - 4 PM (EST).
Electronic Funds Transfers and ACH Payments
Make electronic gifts to Michigan Ross through wire transfers and automated clearing house payments.
Gifts of Stock and Securities
Gifts of publicly traded securities that have appreciated allow you to avoid capital gains taxes while also receiving a tax deduction for your gift. Plus, you can specify the Erb Institute as the recipient. The university benefits by selling the stock without paying taxes on the gain, and you benefit from making a contribution that would be larger than what you might have been able to donate in cash.
Employer Matching
Many employers give generously to educational institutions by matching employees’ charitable contributions. You can search the U-M database of companies to determine whether your organization will match gifts made by individuals.
If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer, and send it completed and signed with your gift. We will do the rest. Some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses.
Estate and Planned Giving
Planned gifts provide creative and flexible strategies for you to pursue your philanthropic, financial, and estate planning goals. When you include U-M in your estate plan, your legacy gift helps us continue our mission for generations to come.
