Scotten Maderal

Scotten Maderal ’26 is pursuing a degree in Environmental Science at the University of Michigan, with a focus on climate strategy, environmental markets, and business. He is interested in how companies can translate sustainability goals into measurable decisions around emissions, operations, investment, and long-term strategy. He currently serves as Co-President of the Erb Undergraduate Fellows Council.

Scotten works as a Sustainability Intern at Barton Malow, where he supports corporate sustainability reporting, emissions and waste analysis, and industry benchmarking. He has also conducted environmental policy research at Michigan’s Ford School of Public Policy and worked with Ann Arbor SPARK and the City of Ann Arbor on local sustainability initiatives.

Outside of Erb, Scotten enjoys skiing, hiking, biking, traveling, live music, and spending time outdoors.
