Mary Gronkiewicz

Before coming to the University of Michigan, Mary Gronkiewicz ’29 spent seven years at the World Resources Institute, working with partners around the world to improve public policy, finance, and monitoring systems for ecosystem restoration. Most recently, she was part of WRI’s Initiative 20x20 Secretariat team, helping to coordinate a country-led movement for restoration in Latin America. A lifelong nature-lover, Mary seeks to build financial mechanisms to accelerate and scale the implementation of nature-based solutions and other innovative climate tech that help both people and the planet thrive. As a dual-degree student, she is pursuing concentrations in Sustainable Development and ESG at SEAS and Ross, respectively.

Originally from Central Pennsylvania, Mary earned a BA in International Studies and Spanish from Johns Hopkins University. Outside of class, she enjoys running, ballet, gardening, and traveling anywhere sunny.
