MBA/MS Candidate
Mariana Lopes

Mariana is passionate about bridging the worlds of business and sustainability to accelerate the implementation of climate solutions. Before joining the Erb Institute, she worked in corporate sustainability, climate strategy, waste management, and environmental technology, supporting project implementation in both the private and public sectors.
Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, Mariana came to the University of Michigan to pursue a Master of Science in Environment and Sustainability, where she became inspired to explore how financial strategies can scale existing environmental solutions. This question led her to pursue an MBA at the Ross School of Business, where she is now focusing on Sustainable Finance.
As a Student Ambassador with the Erb Institute, Mariana enjoys connecting with peers to discuss meaningful ways to integrate business and sustainability. Outside of work, she loves hiking, cycling, dancing ballet and jazz, and playing board games.
