Zach advocates for a systems approach to agriculture and strives to build better distribution networks that empower ecologically responsible food producers to improve U.S. nutrition. Prior to arriving in Ann Arbor, Zach was a communications strategist in Washington, D.C., where he worked with clients including John Deere, U.S. allies in the Far and Middle East and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, for which he helped expand the national profile of Michigan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. He continues to work with startups as a mentor with 1776, a Washington D.C.-based incubator and seed fund. Zach earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. When not trying to improve U.S. agriculture, Zach enjoys cooking and eating it — preferably to the musical stylings of Ann Arbor-based Vulfpeck.
