Kenji is all about connecting eco-friendly products with customers. He has been working in the chemical industry for the past 10 years. He is currently working as an Engineering Manager at BASF Corporation where he manages technical, commercial, and account management support for their automotive OEM coatings business. His main customer is Honda, and he makes sure all new products being developed meet the environmental regulations, cost targets, and performance requirements. Kenji visits his customers’ plants on a frequent basis to maintain a good relationship. Prior to his BASF career, he was a Product Manager at AkzoNobel. Kenji coordinated product and market developments for automotive underbody/underhood powder coatings, which are excellent, environmentally-friendly products that emit no volatile organic compounds. Before Kenji joined AkzoNobel, he served as a Technical Liaison Representative at PPG Industries where he helped launch Honda’s new assembly plant in Alabama using waterborne paint technology. Kenji earned dual B.S. degrees in Chemistry and Biology at Southeast Missouri State University. Kenji came to the U.S. after graduating from high school in Japan. His passion is travelling, especially to visit national parks. This year he visited Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Capitol Reef National Park and conquered several strenuous hikes with his lovely wife, Angie.
