Eshanthi is interested in social enterprise and sustainable development opportunities in emerging economies. As a William Davidson Institute Fellow, she spent this past summer at CARE Bangladesh creating a valuation model using financial and social metrics for a joint venture social enterprise with a multinational consumer goods company, negotiating ownership structure and finalizing the business plan for the new company. Eshanthi is studying strategy and sustainable systems at Michigan. Born into a developing country at the brink of civil war, Eshanthi hopes her education will lead her to foster sustainable growth in post-conflict areas.
Eshanthi earned a B.S. in business and a B.A. in journalism at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. After graduating, she spent four years in Washington, DC, working in both private and non-profit sectors. She discovered her passion for sustainable growth while launching a project to help aspiring female entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka.
