Annie White is a Senior Consultant with RRS, and was formerly the Office of Waste Diversion Manager at the D.C. Department of Public Works. She is also the founder and CEO of Resource Strategies, a consultancy that accelerates the adoption of market and policy solutions that advance sustainability aims. Prior to founding Resource Strategies, Annie launched and led two industry coalitions housed within non-profit organizations which are dedicated to the development and implementation of sustainable, market-based solutions. Since its inception, GreenBlue’s Sustainable Packaging Coalition has grown from its nine founding member companies to over 200 members, and has been lauded as ‘One of the most influential groups in packaging’. Global Green’s Coalition for Resource Recovery has piloted new methods for recycling foodservice packaging that have been adopted by Starbucks Coffee Company and Pret A Manger and has advised city agencies on waste related polices and infrastructure development. While working with McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry and through independent endeavors, Annie has consulted with Fortune 500 clients on issues including: sustainable products and packaging, recycling, and sustainability reporting and communications. Clients include: Nike, Ford, Volvo, Walmart, and Waste Management.
Annie’s work has been cited in the New York Times, Grist and leading trade publications. Annie earned an MBA from the Ross School of Business and a MS in Sustainable Systems from the School of Natural Resources and Environment at the University of Michigan. She also holds a dual BS in Biology and Environmental Science from the College of William and Mary.
