Professor Melville’s research examines the mechanisms and consequences of information systems innovation within and among organizations, including the application of innovative information systems to support and transform environmental sustainability. His research has been published in MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Decision Support Systems, and Communications of the ACM and has been cited more than 140 times. He is a co-editor of Global E-Commerce: Impacts of National Environment and Policy (Cambridge University Press), which examines the global dimensions of IS innovation
