Mr. Ellis aspires to strategically position organizations as leading exemplars and enablers of sustainability that not only achieve improved economic, environmental, and social performance internally, but also empower their customers and partners to do the same. During his graduate studies Mark has sharpened his skills via internships supporting the sustainability strategy leadership teams at Ford Motor Company and SAP. After graduating, Mr. Ellis managed the implementation of George Washington University’s (GWs) Climate Action Plan. Most notably, he helped lead the successful effort to procure 50% of the school’s electricity from solar PV, which at the time of signing represented the largest ever U.S. non-utility solar PPA. Mark now serves in a customer success management role at BuildingConnected.

Prior to enrolling at the University of Michigan, as a consultant at Energetics Incorporated Mark led strategic planning, program management, and meeting facilitation services supporting U.S. Department of Energy and other clients in the areas of energy efficiency, energy reliability, energy security, and technology delivery. In his free time, Mr. Ellis enjoys swimming, snowboarding, rock climbing, and playing guitar. Mark graduated Summa Cum Laude and 1st in his class from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Policy, focused in environmental economics.
