Jim is interested in mobility transformation and renewable energy. His current research involves the development of an integrated model to provide insights into the environmental benefits of autonomous vehicles. Prior to joining the Erb Institute, Jim spent 5 years working in the aerospace industry as a systems engineer. His responsibilities included business development, satellite design and analysis, verification testing, and government relations on Capitol Hill. His passion for environmental sustainability developed after many years of studying climate change when he decided he wanted to have more impact in developing mitigation strategies. Jim has a bachelor’s degree in Earth systems science and a master’s degree in space engineering from the University of Michigan.
