Hyesung Han is from Korea and graduated in 2003. Hyesung is interested in developing public-private partnerships for more sustainable businesses and efficient environment protection. Hyesung worked at Mckinsey & Company, consulting in e-commerce strategy to one of the largest banks in Korea during the summer of 2000. Prior to entering University of Michigan, she worked on a wide range of projects, from managing the start-up of textile plants to launching new businesses both in Korea and internationally. Between 1998 and 1999, Hyesung led a task force in the e-commerce department of her company, culminating in the successful start-up of one of the largest Internet shopping malls in Korea. While working in the private sector, she volunteered in local environmental organizations as a researcher. She also volunteered as a counselor to help abused women. During the summer of 1999, Hyesung volunteered at the Australian Trust for Conservation Volunteers, helping to preserve wildlife in the Larapinta desert area in the Northern Territory.
