Gabriel Thoumi, CFA, FRM
Director, Capital Markets Research
Class of 2008
Enabling financial systems to empower people, protect the planet, and generate profit are my three favorite things. As a global senior banking and finance research manager with 15+ years of experience in rapidly designing innovative solutions to complex financial problems, I truly enjoy working with teams to solve complex financial problems. My broad experience in managing climate-related investment research teams focusing on adaptation, mitigation, and resilience has helped many of these teams in designing numerous “financial firsts”. My strong background in corporate finance and credit, portfolio and risk management, GAAP, energy infrastructure, agriculture supply chains, and fintech has greatly supported my frequent, global C-Suite negotiations aiding businesses in implementing climate solutions. I am one of the few natural resource scientists who works on Wall Street.
Work experience in: Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, Macedonia, UK, South Africa, Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Belize, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and elsewhere.
So, what’s next? Currently, I take an interest in designing cutting edge open source data-visualization tools used for governance scoring of boards and executives focusing on climate and financial risk integration.
