Emily is interested in how the public and private sectors can work together to accomplish our development and climate change goals. At Michigan, Emily is a Dow Sustainability Fellow, co-President of the Erb Institute Student Advisory Board, sits on the SNRE Dean’s Executive Committee, and formerly served as co-President of SNRE Student Government and VP of Ross Net Impact. Outside of Michigan, she serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors of World’s Window, Inc., a non-profit education organization in rural Belize that sends underprivileged students to high school. Emily interned with the World Resources Institute in Summer 2012, exploring how to use public financing to mobilize private investment in low-carbon projects in developing countries. She spent Summer 2013 with McKinsey & Company in management consulting. Prior to coming to Michigan, Emily worked in higher-ed fundraising, both annual giving and international advancement, with a focus on Asia and Europe. Emily earned a B.A. in government and environmental science and policy from Smith College, where she served as President of the Student Government and member of the Board of Trustees. In her free time, Emily can be found traveling, hiking, rowing, snowboarding, or cycling.
