Marketing and Communications Manager
Carolyn is responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive communication plan to the Erb institute’s internal (Erb students, alumni, and advisory boards) and external audiences (prospective students, business partners, peer institutes, and other sustainability thought leaders). As the manager Carolyn considers the sustainability interests of Erb’s target audiences and ensures our content pipeline is meeting those needs. Carolyn manages the curation of the collective output of faculty, students, alumni and partners and strategically packages and disseminates this content through a variety of mediums to position Erb as a premier provider of sustainability education and as a business resource. She also liaises with fellow U-M communicators, Alumni Relations, Development and schools.
Carolyn has worked at large branded companies such as, Unilever, Sears Catalog and Lintas: Campbell-Ewald. A consulting opportunity at The New Center in Ann Arbor afforded Carolyn an opportunity to explore marketing in the non-profit arena. Living as an ex-pat in China, she took this to the next level working in the Marketing Department of the Concordia International School of Shanghai to improve their communications and presence with respect to elite international programs in Asia.
