SUSTAINABLE BRANDS PARTNERSHIP

We collaborated with Sustainable Brands in welcoming their global business sustainability community to Detroit in May 2017. Erb faculty and community members spoke at the conference and engaged in dialogue with local and global business leaders revolving around the conference theme of “Redefining the Good Life”. Read more about the 2017 conference here.  The 2018 Conference was held in Vancouver, June 4-7th this year.  Here is a short write-up about the event and Erb’s involvement.  We are excited about SB’s return to Detroit in 2019!

We are proud to be Sustainable Brands chosen academic partner and look forward to continued business sustainability collaboration.

INNOVATION FORUM PARTNERSHIP

As we welcome fall we are also excited to share our new alliance with Innovation Forum.  Innovation Forum’s debate and question format gets straight to the heart of the hard sustainability challenges businesses are grappling with and Detroit will be a perfect backdrop to their upcoming conference October 2-3rd.   In Detroit we anticipate getting straight into the conversation around ROI and measuring sustainability impacts.

Moving forward we are looking forward to being a partner in facilitating the research and debate to improve sustainability in business.

RESEARCH INITIATIVE FOR THE RESPONSIBLE DEVELOPMENT OF CUBA (RISDoC)

As the Cuban economy evolves and opens, the Erb Institute looks to actively engage in global academic partnerships that focus on the role of business (both Cuban and international) in social, environmental and economic sustainability on the island. Erb is developing partnerships with universities in Cuba (such as Universidad Pinar del Río) as well as foundations and nonprofits (like the Center for Responsible Travel in the U.S.) to learn from the unique Cuban experience, share global experiences with business and policy decision-makers in Cuba, and work together to promote sustainability as a key aspect of the market evolution on Cuba.

Erb serves as a member of the international advisory group to the Cuban-led Research Initiative for the Sustainable Development of Cuba (RISDoC), and provides opportunities for institute researchers and students to experience sustainability first-hand in the context of the singular history and culture of Cuba.
