We’re looking for a Sustainability Intern to support Salesforce’s carbon footprinting and decarbonization strategies across the organization, helping the company achieve the ambitious 1.5°C-aligned goal of 50% emissions reduction by 2030. This position will report to the Senior Director of Emissions Reduction and work closely with the entire Impact team and cross-functional business partners.

Roles/Responsibilities: 

Greenhouse Gas Accounting and Reporting

  • Contribute to the annual greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting (measuring scope 1,2,& 3 emissions)and reporting process
  • Support maintenance and use of Salesforce’s Net Zero Cloud instance
  • Contribute to process improvements related to data collection, forecasting, and decarbonization
  • Review and work with key stakeholders to update our GHG Inventory Management Plan
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks and reporting standards

Qualifications: 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Currently enrolled in a masters or MBA program with a focus on Sustainability, Environmental Studies, or related field
  • Demonstrated passion for and knowledge of corporate ESG issues
  • Experience with Greenhouse Gas quantification and accounting utilizing the Greenhouse Gas Protocol across scopes 1, 2, and 3
  • Experience with quantitative analysis, including exposure to larger unstructured data sets
  • Experience with emissions forecasting

  • Experience maintaining complex data models and data management systems
  • Tech savvy and comfortable working with and using new software tools
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Project management experience
  • Keen attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
