Overview

At Salesforce, our employee giving and volunteering programs are centered around Citizen Philanthropy , an approach to giving back that’s driven by the belief that individuals offering their time, talent, and resources can affect real change. Employees are encouraged to use their giving and volunteering benefits ($5K in matching gifts and 7 days paid volunteer time off) to achieve Impact Milestones and become eligible for rewards. Our programs create a platform for Salesforce’s 75K+ employees to create lasting impact in the communities where they live and work.

The Citizen Philanthropy (CP) team is seeking a finance savvy, passionate, diligent team member to lead the operations of our Employee Giving programs. Reporting to the Director of CP Scale, this person would provide strategic oversight, vision, and day-to-day management of the global employee giving programs , including overseeing the budget, partnering with key internal and external stakeholders/vendors, owning and refining the program policy, and exploring potential technology solutions to allow the program to operate efficiently at scale.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Best Practices

  • Lead the creation of a global employee giving strategy and manage the development of an integrated approach to engaging our global workforce in giving, focusing on scale, building partnerships, engaging employees, and leveraging data to improve participation
  • Encourage giving across the company demonstrating and analyzing data and storytelling to increase employee awareness of and participation in the employee giving programs
  • Understand the landscape of employee giving vendors and make recommendations to craft policy, systems, and internal processes to align with and exceed industry standard methodologies

Budget Oversight and Tracking

  • Partner with key internal and external partners such as Finance, Accounting, and associated vendors
  • Manage the employee giving program budget, including budget planning, forecasting, and tracking actuals
  • Analyze program trends using historical giving data to build financial models that will influence the program’s strategic direction and make recommendations on the program’s strategic direction
  • Partner with key stakeholders in accounting to process US payments on a monthly cadence

Operations & Technology Systems

  • Manage the matching gifts program handling administrative aspects of employee giving, including reviewing matching gift requests, execution of giving programs and extra matching initiatives, and issuance of donations
  • Partner with Community Resilience team members to develop and support a proactive employee fundraising policy for disaster relief; partner to develop, implement, and promote employee fundraising campaigns around disasters and other rapid-response events; proactively identify and onboard relevant charities for disaster campaigns
  • Develop standardized operating procedures and learning materials to help scale employee participation in giving programs and continuously refine self-service resources to increase efficiency and employee awareness
  • Ensure that Salesforce’s platform, Volunteerforce, is meeting the needs of employees. Analyze and make recommendations around platform opportunities and challenges
  • Partner closely with Business Technology to shape the product roadmap and propose enhancements to the platform

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years in an operational role, including grants operations, systems transformation, accounting and/or finance
  • Ability to distill a high volume of sophisticated data into a digestible story for executive leadership to help influence program direction
  • Robust data analytics, data visualization, and Excel skills
  • Salesforce technology experience

  • Experience collaborating with constituents globally
  • High level of customer service competence
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage competing projects and requests
  • Comfortable owning and navigating relationships with key internal and external partners
  • Familiarity and/or passion for technology platforms in the social impact space
  • Comfortable and thrives in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment where a high degree of patience and flexibility is required
