Location: Washington, D.C. (Hybrid)

Overview: Under the supervision of the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), the Manager, FP&A will support CGC’s strategic objectives through FP&A activities including its budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning exercises. This role supports senior leadership from a “by the numbers” perspective and helps the organization ensure that it reaches its goals.

The primary responsibilities of the Manager, FP&A will be to provide financial analysis of actual and forecast data including through work with the strategic/corporate model, variance analyses (e.g., actuals vs. budget or forecast), and routine reporting on weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual schedules to support liquidity/cash planning, capital allocation and planning, managerial/departmental reporting, evaluation of key performance indicators and strategic planning. This is a high visibility role within the Finance and broader leadership teams, requiring careful management of confidential information, cross-functional communications, internal and external partnerships, and project management.

It is highly preferred that this position is based in Washington DC. The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis position will be a hybrid position.

Roles/Responsibilities: 

  • Support the Finance Team’s strategic objectives with a focus on the delivery of the FP&A team’s routine reporting and ad hoc analyses.
  • Support the delivery of management and staff-level presentation and discussion materials on routine and ad hoc bases.
  • Work across departments to gather and report necessary information.
  • Develop ever more efficient and standardized data gathering, verification, and reporting tools including to work with the Head of FP&A and other teams to leverage existing and potentially new software solutions.
  • Oversee non-labor operational expenditure.
  • Partner with Accounting, Treasury, and other Finance teammates to support the delivery of items in their respective areas, including supporting them directly from time-to-time.

Qualifications:

  • Prior professional experience in financial modeling and analysis, financial reporting, or corporate finance.
  • Technical understanding of core financial concepts including revenues, expenses, assets, liabilities, and equity, and fundamentals of investment management, and financial statements.
  • Demonstrable critical thinking and analytic skill sets, strong communication, and professional poise.
  • Experience with project management including to work across teams to ensure project delivery.
  • Excellent organization skills and experience in organizing and prioritizing project sets based on substance, urgency, and capacity.
  • Self-organized with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • English language fluency required.
  • Familiarity with data management and related systems.
  • A dedication to climate finance.
  • A sense of humor, passion for change, and an eye towards innovation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States of America.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Travel occasionally to support programs.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer required.

Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in an analytic discipline such as finance, engineering, statistics, or similar field.
  • Four to five years of professional experience in corporate finance, investment management, investment banking, or management consulting.
  • CFA or additional education a plus.
  • Demonstrable experience supporting sustainability or climate finance organizations from a professional or personal perspective.
