The primary purpose of this role is to support Mastercard’s Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) goals and sustainability public disclosures. Mastercard’s mission is to create an inclusive and sustainable supply base. Mastercard has committed to a 2040 NetZero target and companies will soon have mandated disclosures to the investor community related to climate risk and plans to mitigate risk. This role will serve as the primary liaison with Global Procurement, Corporate FP&A, Controllership and the Climate and Sustainability teams to create and ensure proper controls and processes are in place supporting the Task form on Climate-Related Disclosures (TCFD). This is a new function to the company and has a high level of visibility. This is a great opportunity to build a control function from scratch.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute financial controls for Mastercard environmental targets including investments.
  • Create financial processes around the commitments
  • Build commitment and alignment with senior leadership, including business owners
  • Manage net zero expenses
  • Provide leadership and oversight for targets
  • Demonstrate flexibility and creativity in navigating internal buy-in of business leaders
  • Participate in ideation for Mastercard’s environmental sustainability goals and targets
  • Develop reporting metrics for reporting progress to Net Zero 2040

Qualifications

  • Prior experience with financial reporting
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Understanding of financial systems including MS Excel, Powerpoint, Hyperion, Oracle
  • Ability to build internal and external business partnerships
  • Working knowledge of ESG and Task Force on Climate related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with demonstrable comfort interacting with all levels of management
