This position supports the success of Starbucks Environmental Social Governance (ESG) Reporting and Disclosure team by leading strategy for Human Rights, Civil Rights, and other Human Capital metric disclosures. This role will support existing Starbucks programs centered on Equity, such as the Civil Rights Assessment, and be responsible for working with internal stakeholders to help design, develop and communicate future strategies around human capital metrics disclosures.

Responsibilities

  • Co-develop strategies with business teams to integrate human rights considerations and drive measurable results across the company.
  • Work closely with Inclusion and Diversity and other relevant subject matter experts to lead the central strategy on Starbucks’ Civil Rights Assessments.
  • Facilitate discussions between multiple stakeholders to design risk mitigation solutions related to civil and human rights concern.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in SASB, GRI, the UN SDGs and other best practice reporting frameworks and standards. Partner with multiple internal teams to expand quantitative reporting in alignment with standards.
  • Proactively identify and develop large-scale reporting strategies and stakeholder engagement to create impact and influence that supports the business and the brand.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years leading human rights or civil rights programs, projects, and cross-functional teams
  • 7-10 years of project management skills and experience, including managing multiple projects at once
  • Direct work experience related to the specific ESG reporting and disclosures and social impact functions in a progressive organizational setting
  • Strong knowledge of current tools and trends in ESG reporting and disclosure
  • BA/BS required, JD or other specialized graduate degree preferred
