Hyzon Motors is seeking a Director, Strategy & Corporate Development. The Director, Strategy & Corporate Development will be a strategic leader with experience, an owner mindset, and strong desire to work across the business to drive impact and innovation in a high-growth environment. The Director, Strategy & Corporate Development will report to the SVP, Corporate Development and will focus on advancing Hyzon’s key goals towards a decarbonized future.


  • Work closely with the Executive Leadership Team to establish and execute the strategic agenda for the Company, across end-market and vehicle platform entry & expansion, customer development, hydrogen supply, vehicle and supply chain innovation, partnerships & acquisitions, and many other critical topics 
  • Provide thought partnership to Senior Executives across the company by leading strategic planning process by providing research, analysis and recommendations 
  • Develop a deep understanding of key drivers of business performance to inform ad-hoc analyses and recommendations 
  • Lead the core strategy team in creation, execution and management of the company’s Strategic Plan in collaboration with the Executive management team 
  • Part of an agile leadership team with specific vertical focus but has a clear perspective on adjacencies, such as M&A and finance 
  • Develop relationships with cross-functional stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment 
  • Originate, cultivate and execute on key external partnerships with industry leaders 
  • Identify, prioritize and implement key strategic projects to drive organic growth (e.g., partnerships, joint ventures) 
  • Lead the hydrogen team in detailed business plan creation and strategic performance management including project-level economic modeling 
  • Support Sales & Business Development with strategic customer analysis and account planning including financial modeling on pricing, contract terms and account profitability 
  • Identify opportunities to upgrade of strategic, customer and operational analytic approaches including tools / systems, dashboards, models and automation 


  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred 
  • 5-10 years’ total experience, with experience in either strategy or financial consulting, investment banking, private equity or corporate strategy / business development with similar responsibilities 
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and financial acumen and skills; producing fact-based, logical hypothesis and scenarios with well thought out conclusions 
  • Proven experience presenting strategic analysis and insights to both Executive / Management and non-finance personnel 
  • Ability to go beyond the data and understand the “so what”, to translate findings into key insights and actionable recommendations 
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, suitable for executive audience 
  • Strong modeling skills
