This is an opportunity to join the BlackRock Renewable Power investment team as an associate/VP with responsibility for financial modeling, deal assessment and execution, market research and general analytics.

 BlackRock Renewable Power (“BRP”) Investment Team is a team within BlackRock Alternative Investors (“BAI”). BRP invests in climate infrastructure assets on a global basis and was formed in 2011 as BlackRock identified the attractiveness of owning real assets and expanded their Alternatives offering through the creation of an infrastructure platform. The team comprises 50+ professionals who have significant renewable power/energy expertise. Since 2011, BlackRock’s renewable equity franchise has grown into one of the largest dedicated renewable energy investment platforms in the world with ~$9Bn of AUM and committed capital and investments in over 250 wind and solar projects, onshore and offshore, with a total generation capacity of over 6GW, located in 14 countries globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial modeling: developing, utilizing, analyzing and dissecting financial models in order to analyze project and platform (corporate) level investment opportunities and conduct valuations both at a project and overall Fund level
  • Deal assessment and execution: working with the team to assess and execute renewable energy project investments. This will include conducting due diligence, financial review, preparation of presentation material for investment committee etc.
  • Market research: including research on potential investments, renewable energy policy, competitors, technology, net markets, etc.
  • Portfolio monitoring: assist in the monitoring of investments in the portfolio, including ongoing interaction with the Finance and Operations teams and assistance with project financing needs.

Relevant Experience:

  • Renewable power and/or other power sector experience
  • IB, PE, developer / IPP M&A experience
  • M&A project and/or corporate valuation
  • Financial modeling test required


  • Associate position open to new graduates with experience on the transactional side.
  • VP position required graduate degree and 3-5 years of work experience.
