Why CPR Is Essential for Black Economic Progress and Prosperity

Thursday, August 19, 3:00-4:15pmEDT

David Clunie, Executive Director of the Black Economic Alliance

Over the past two years, many companies have made ambitious commitments to supporting racial equity. While much of this work involves internal hiring and promotional practices, addressing structural barriers also means re-thinking political contributions and policy positions.  Firms must wrestle with several critical questions:

  • Why is policy important to improving work, wages and wealth in the Black community? Why not just focus on business operations?
  • What is business’ responsibility in the face of shared systemic issues that involve strong civic institutions, racial equity, informed civil discourse, etc?
  • What policies or actions are most critical for businesses to review and act on now?

Please join us for our next Expert Dialogue with David Clunie, Executive Director of the Black Economic Alliancewho previously led the State & Local Government Relations team at JPMorgan Chase & Co.
